All my life I resisted taking a cruise for vacation because I imagined it was for the rich and famous. I couldn't guess that I would ever be able to afford or even enjoy such a thing. But, our friends invited us once to take a cruise with them and the price was much lower than the cost of taking a vacation in Hawaii had been the previous year. We went and we loved it.
It has not been difficult to find other cruises since that first one with our friends. We basically take these steps:
Decide that we want to take a cruise within a certain time frame.
Look for cruises on line for that time frame and decide on a destination.
Find a good price for the time frame and destination we decided on.
Invite our friends to join us.
We all book at the same time so that we are considered by the cruise line to be together.
Ask the cruise line that we dine together in the evenings.
Taking these steps in pretty much this order has resulted in very pleasant and relatively inexpensive cruise vacations to different locations, and for various time lengths.
I say that they are relatively inexpensive because the cost changes with the length of the cruise and the location on the ship where you are bunking. So, a cruise for four nights at $199.00 per person is $50.00 a night per person and includes:
All meals.
Entertainment.
Room.
Transportation to the destinations targeted by the particular cruise.
But a cruise for ten nights to Hawaii for $350.00 is $35.00 a night per person. The cost is nearly doubled when you consider you will have to purchase air tickets as well. But, it is still relatively inexpensive. If you keep in mind a range of $35.00 - $50.00 a night per person, you can easily find cruises to fit your budget. There are even two and one night cruises available.
As you consider all these things together along with the price, it would be difficult to enjoy a comparable vacation for the same price. There is no hotel or resort where you would fall asleep in one city and wake up in another. Consider eating out for three or more meals a day while paying for professional transportation to several vacation spots. You would have to do the traveling by car, bus, etc..., while lounging by the pool or snorkeling off some luxurious beach. That would be impressive. And, you would still have to buy the air tickets to and from your vacation spot.
In my opinion, these cruise vacations simply cannot be beat.
