Golden Princess Cruise Ship Review

There cannot be many names which hint at greater opulence in a cruise ship than the name given to the Grand Class cruise ship launched in 2001 by Princess Cruises. The Golden Princess has a name that is instantly evocative of the best of everything. For an item to make it on to this cruise ship, it needs to be good enough not only for a princess, but for a golden princess. That's quite something to live up to by anyone's estimation. So if you are hoping to cruise the Mexican Riviera any time soon and would like to do so in style, then the chances are that your trip will be undertaken on the Golden Princess.

What makes a ship into a regal enough vessel to be termed a Golden Princess, then? Well, this one contains a long list of amenities, enough to make anyone bow or curtsey. As well as three formal dining rooms, there is a nine-hole mini-golf course and several swimming pools. So you can work up an appetite before going for dinner, and then if you feel that you may have enjoyed dinner a little too much you can always visit the gym to burn some of the excess off.

No member of the family is ignored, with the kids having access to a video arcade and children's facility, and adolescents catered for in the dedicated teen center. And if you just want to relax after dinner, you can do it while taking in a show in one of the three lounges, watching a film in the screening room, or just having a drink in any one of the many bars on the ship. If you aren't hungry, or are busy at mealtimes and can't make it to the dining room of your choice, then there are options available in the form of numerous restaurants, all of which give you the chance to eat according to the Personal Choice Dining service - which means dining whenever you want.

If you book a first class cabin, then you'll be pleased to know that the chances are you'll be able to claim a private balcony - something that adds a level of wonder to travelling by sea, as you look down from your own personal balcony onto incredible stretches of blue sea. There's no need to even miss the game if you happen to be away while there's a big one being played - the Golden Princess has an onboard sports bar. A 24-hour buffet/bistro gives you the chance to grab a light snack or something heavier if your hunger pangs don't coincide with mealtimes, and as there's a round-the-clock room service laid on, you can even have it delivered to your room.

One pretty unique amenity that the Golden Princess can claim is the Sky walkers nightclub. If you can truly say that you've danced the night away while looking down at stretches of open water that you're leaving behind, then you really have joined a small - but growing - band of people. The Golden Princess truly is a treasure trove for the luxury cruise fan, and is undeniably fit for a princess.
